The Artists Behind ‘Double Hustle’ Break Down the Process in Crafting an EP Loaded with Hot Chunks of Funk and Soul

As the world reels from the growth of artificial intelligence that permeates all sectors relevant to human life, the idea that high-quality music in any genre can be generated with just a few prompts on an AI tool continues to stir intense debates in the industry.  Some claim that AI-generated music is as good as human-created, while others say it is stale, cold, and devoid of any trace of soul. It is this construct that composers Semih Yanyali,  Gabriel Alvarez, and Ben Harris decided to write, produce, and record an EP that aims to swing the argument towards the human side by simply gathering in one room full of instruments and just playing, letting their own souls drive every beat and every note. The result is Double Hustle, a five-track EP that, in many ways, proves the supremacy of humans in creating meaningful music.

Songs like “Got it Good,” “Do You Wrong,” and “Pressure Makes Diamonds” can only be made by artists with warm blood running through their veins because they cover whole ranges of emotions that no algorithm can match. It is music that breathes.

Watch this exclusive interview with Semih, Gabriel, and Ben as they break down the process of creating one of the most powerful albums in the APM Music catalog.

Double Hustle was released by Stacks to Tracks and now available for licensing through APM Music. Alternate mixes and stems are also available.
