When stories of first love are told by the young, they are often defined by angst and heartbreak. But for up-and-coming indie artist Carly Cooper, her song "Tattoo" is about the full experience, which includes tears as well as laughter and beautiful memories.

"This song means a great deal to me. This was me trying to wrap my head around my first experience with love, dealing with all the emotions that pour into all stages of a relationship, even beyond the endings, Carly said. "I wanted to encapsulate the kind of rose-colored love that many store deep inside themselves, one that will never really leave your side - untouchable and always with you, like ink needled onto your skin."

Carly is one of APM's fastest-rising artists today. Hailing from Madison, Wisconsin, she is actively playing her local gig circuit and steadily amassing loyal followers who relate to her heartfelt songs and admire her impeccable musicianship. She recently released a new single entitled "Playboy," which is available to stream on all major platforms.

She is also performing in APM Music's first artist showcase in Los Angeles on February 29 at Resident DTLA.
